Overview

Digital Banking platform play vital role in modern banking. GREEN PIN, the green initiative & a value added service, offers an effortless and hassle free Netbanking Password generation for existing as well as new customers.

We have introduced the facility of GREEN PIN for Password generation during new customer enrollment and for regeneration of login and transaction password. Customers having Internet Banking and valid email id can use this facility.

Procedure for customer enrollment

Login and Transaction passwords for new Enrolment:

• During upload of new customer registration, the following SMS intimation will get generated and sent to registered mobile number.
  “The User ID allotted for accessing Internet Banking is XXXXXXX. Your password has been sent to your registered e-mail id – Tamilnad Mercantile Bank.”
• Login password will get generated and sent to the registered e-mail as attachment of password protected PDF file.
• The PDF password will be a combination of first four letters of User ID (in upper case) followed by Date of Birth (in DDMM format) and last three digits of registered mobile number.
  Example: If USER ID is GOKULAMC09, Date of Birth (in DD-MM-YYYY format) is 03.10.1971 and mobile number is 1234567890, then password to open the PDF document is GOKU0310890.
• Login using the login password received through e-mail.
• OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number.
• Enter the OTP received.
• System will force to change the login password and to set Transaction Password.
• System will ask for Security Questions for additional security reasons. Answer the security questions.
• After cooling Period of 2 hours all the menus will be enabled.

Regeneration of Password

Customer can regenerate his / her e-Banking Sign-on Password in Internet Banking using the “Forgot Password” option in the login screen and Transaction password from “Reset Txn Password” menu after login.

Procedure for resetting Login Password :

• Click on Forgot Password Option in login page.
• Select Green PIN and click on Continue button.
• Enter User ID and Date of Birth (or) PAN Number and click on Continue button.
• OTP gets generated and sent to registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and click on Continue button.
• Sign on password gets generated and sent to registered mail id as password protected PDF document.

If reset of login password is by choosing DOB detail, Password to open the PDF is a combination of First four(4) letters of User ID(in upper case), followed by Date of Birth in DDMM format and followed by last three digits of mobile number.

If reset of login password is by choosing PAN detail, Password to open the PDF is a combination of First four(4) letters of User ID(in upper case), followed by First four (4) letters of PAN Number (in upper case) and followed by last three digits of mobile number.

Example : If User ID is GOKULAMC09, PAN number is XXXXX1111X and mobile number is 9999999909, password to open the PDF document is GOKUXXXX909.

Procedure for resetting Transaction Password :

• Select Reset Txn Password option from the Menu Bar.
• Customer can reset Transaction Password using OTP authentication.
• OTP generated to registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and click on Continue button.
• Transaction password gets generated and sent to registered email id as password protected PDF document.
  The PDF password will be a combination of first four letters of User ID (inn upper case) followed by Date of Birth (in DDMM format) and last three digits of mobile number. Enter the transaction password shared through mail and reset the same by entering new password. Click on Continue.
• A message gets displayed 'Transaction password changed successfully'.
